No way to really argue with what you are saying (and I have no desire to try).

You “boil it down” neatly. In a sense, one thing that religion does for people is substitute one mystery (God) for multiple mysteries (life).

I suppose we could boil it down further and just say that the core question of Life, Religion, Philosophy, is “Why?”

And we all make peace with our answer in our own different ways.
