What Got Us Trump: “The Evil of the Two Lessers”
Are we going to blow it?
Again?
Four more years?
The Trumpster Fire in the White House will just burn on and on?
Possibly . . .
But if that happens, I don’t think it will be for the reasons we keep getting beaten over the head with — the Putative PR Peril of Progressive Policies (the 5P threat, if you will).
Quite the opposite, really.
If the Dems blow it in 2020, it will be because they have continued a decades-long trend toward acting like the Republican Lite party: Fewer new ideas! Less scary!
Electability and Attitude:
Don’t Scare the Voters!
The Dems keep chasing their tails in a Liberal vs. Progressive, Democrat vs. Socialist, Radical vs. Incrementalist kind of way; the core argument, of course, is about electability: You know the threat; if the Dems nominate someone “too out of the mainstream,” Trump will win reelection.
It’ll be George McGovern in ’72 all over again!
Only Sleepy Joe Biden can save us!
He’ll bring back the Obama Magic.
Well . . . that’s my very worry, really.
